Plains of Blood
Tribeless Mohican Warrior
Full blooded Mohican (or Mahican “people of the waters that are never still”)
6’5" tall, muscular
Black hair, partly shaved and pulled back into a short braid
Native tongue: Algonquian
Standing at 6’5”, Uncas was the epitome of the Mohican warrior. He and his brethren had successfully defended his tribe from Mohawk raids on numerous occasions. Being renowned for his strength and courage it seemed that one day he would surely become a War Leader. Fate, however, had seemingly chosen a far less glorious path for this champion.
The small pox that destroyed his village left Uncas scarred far more profoundly than the pox marks on his face. The plague claimed each and every member of his clan, and brought Uncas himself to the brink of death. How he survived on his own is still a mystery to him, but upon his recovery, and seeing the corpses of his proud warrior brothers, Uncas knew that he had been cursed.
Regarded as a pariah by other tribes, Uncas wandered south looking for purpose. He offered up his axes to whomever would take him on. Embittered by his tragedy, he feels no sympathy for his enemies, and finds little solace in companionship. Seven years after the loss of his tribe, Uncas longs to join his ancestors in the afterlife, but refuses to shame himself by taking his own life.
